What to watch, read, eat & drink this weekend
If you’re one to watch a movie that stars a great wardrobe and are wanting something that gives you the eerie vibes minus the gore, Netflix’s newly released mystery/romance thriller “Rebecca” is just up your alley. The adaptation of the Daphne du Maurier novel had me taking notes on the surprisingly modern attire for scenes set in the ’30’s. Lily James looks like she walked right off the pages of a Fall 2020 editorial, wearing feminine floral prints and ethereal pastel colors that had me wanting all the deets and daydreaming of drives up the French Riviera.
The last book I read by Kristin Hannah was The Great Alone, which I could not put down. So you can imagine the excitement I had flipping through the first few pages of Winter Garden. I love a good seasonal read and this one has me counting down the minutes until I can curl up on the couch and continue!
Fall to me is all about comfort and a hot slow cooker pot roast is an easy dinner that is a crowd pleaser in our house. It warms their bellies and my heart. Find the recipe here.
Time to use up that pumpkin spice creamer and I can’t think of a better way than with a delicious Pumpkin Spice White Russian cocktail. My mother and I love the simpler kind on-the-reg so when I came across this recipe, I was happy to try! My thoughts are to skip on dessert and sip on a PSWR instead, as it makes for a great night cap with just the right amount of sweetness.
Hope you all have a great weekend and don’t forget to check out the rarely seen Blue Moon happening on Halloween (which is even more rare)!
