Nothing is more relaxing to me than coming home after a long day to a clean house and lighting some candles, pouring a glass of wine and turning on some music. My ideal scenario would include fresh flowers on the coffee tables and me being able to kick my feet up and relax before starting dinner.
Indulge your senses.
Scented Candles – one that takes you to another place. I’m currently loving my Boulangerie Jar of Vanilla & Fig from Anthropologie. It reminds me of time when I was younger and smells so fresh and clean.
Fresh flowers – they’re easy on the eyes and warm the heart. Weather from your backyard or the grocery store, there’s something about fresh flowers that feels luxurious. I’m loving that our back yard is full of fresh blooms. No need to fret if you don’t have a green thumb – when we’re fresh out of flowers I check out Kroger’s flower sections for recent mark downs. I can always find a dozen white roses for less than five bucks!
A Buttery Chardonnay – It’s the whole experience of coming home and pouring a glass that helps me unwind. I really like to enjoy the taste of a nice wine. For a nicer bottle ($23), La Crema is one of my favorites with notes of Meyer lemon shortbread, apple and white peach. For a less expense bottle, Kendall Jackson ($13) will do, with flavors such as pineapple, mango and papaya, matched with a hint of toasted oak and butter.
I hope you all get to kick your feet up and enjoy your evening. Cheers to getting through Monday!
