Okay, people. Let’s get this week started right!
“If there must be madness and time crunches and chaos in your life, then let there be chaos. But find the strength and stillness to be the eye inside the storm. These things are happening around you; nothing is happening to you.” – Amy Jirsa • Quiet Earth Yoga
Refuse to stress out about things that are out of our control and that we cannot change.
As we arrived home yesterday from an eventful weekend in San Antonio spent celebrating family, all I could do is throw myself on my bed and chill. I just needed time to decompress. I laid there for a good hour reflecting on life and on a series of events that brought me to where I am at this current moment.
Remembering that the only constant and certain thing in life is change. People change. Feelings change. Relationships change. The only thing we are in control of is our self and how we choose to look at these changes, how we decide to react – if at all.
I was on the phone with my mom when Mitchell came upstairs and turned on the t.v. saying, “You’re going to want to watch this.” and walked out. I wrapped up with my mom and was so intrigued with Beyoncé’s Lemonade debut on HBO. He was right. He knew I would want to see this, as we were just chatting about the new visual album on our drive home.
As I listened to the raw lyrics of a wife fed up with the truth of infidelity and the emotions displayed on screen: intuition, denial, anger, apathy, emptiness, accountability, reformation, forgiveness, resurrection, hope and redemption, all I could think was day-um she’s really putting it all out there. In true Beyoncé fashion, it was perfection. Months of speculation about her marriage and she laid it all out there for the world to see, and learn how Queen Bey turned life’s lemons into sweet, sweet lemonade.
We could all learn a lesson from Beyoncé, whether it’s her work ethic or how she handles herself in the spotlight, she is strong, carries herself gracefully and perseveres.
Life’s not always easy. We each walk our own path. All we can do is try our best to make each day better than the last. I hope that whatever life throws your way that you handle yourself with grace.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you all have a great week!
