One of my favorite parts of my job is that I get an intern, not just because I get extra hands to help with the workload, but because I get to mentor them. Now, I’m not saying that I know it all by any means, but I was once in their place; a student looking for direction trying to find my way.
I love teaching them everything I’ve learned about the business and hearing what their goals are. I enjoy my job, so I love it when they ask questions because I could literally talk about marketing all day. It shows me that they want to learn and are taking advantage of the opportunity. I try my best to build them up and let them know that everything they want is at their fingertips, but they have to have a vision. You have to have a plan, or some sense of direction. What speaks to your heart? What do you enjoy doing? How can you make a living out of it?
I believe in the wise words of Anna Wintour, “People respond well to people who are sure of what they want.”
Even if they’re not certain, but know what sparks their interest or what they are passionate about, I try to help by setting them up with the right people to talk to.I want them to get the most out of their experience and hope that they’ll do the same for someone else one day.

I am passionate about what I do and there’s no better feeling than watching your hard work pay off. I want to see them succeed, and I want us all to! Find that thing that makes you tick and pursue it passionately. There’s no reason why you can’t live a life you love. You just have to have a vision and from that, have a plan.
Make today great!
